How We Support Young Adults and Families

Fun, Friendship and Support — All in One Place
Our monthly Js Days are at the heart of what we do. Held in fully accessible venues across Essex, these 3-hour sessions bring young adults together for creative therapies, entertainment, and connection.
Each Js Day includes:
- Live music therapy sessions.
- Arts, crafts, and creative workshops.
- Therapy dog visits, floristry, drama, and more.
- Relaxation with massage and complementary therapies
Members attend with their carers — and every activity is designed to be safe, inclusive, and full of fun.

Adventures, Experiences, and Memories That Matter
Our Js Away Days offer something a little different — fully-funded group outings that bring new experiences, smiles, and a sense of adventure.
Past and planned outings include:
- Pantomime at The Cliffs Pavilion
- Sea Life Centre, Southend
- RHS Hyde Hall Gardens
- Bowling trips and more
Away Days are open to all Js members and their carers, helping families make special memories in a safe, supported environment.

Because You Deserve Support Too
We know that carers and families carry so much — and often, there’s little space for connection or self-care.
At every Js Day and Away Day, we create time and opportunities for carers to:
- Connect with other parents, carers, and families
- Share experiences, advice, and emotional support
- Access information from visiting professionals
Together, we’re building a stronger, kinder support network — one filled with friendship, understanding, and hope.
“The Js Charity creates moments of real connection, joy and emotional support through everything they do. As a music therapist, it’s been a privilege to deliver sessions in such a welcoming, inclusive space — where every young person can take part in their own way, at their own pace. The Js is more than a charity. It’s a community that truly understands the power of creativity, expression, and belonging.
